Weekend in Jorvik

The weather has been sunny and warm,[almost 23c!],all the weekend. I got lost - came off the wrong junction when approaching York! I  really enjoyed my stay at Nic's although Alex was poorly on friday and saturday - he improved over sunday and seemed almost his cheerful self when I left on monday. When we took Alex to the doctors on friday the doctor said he had a viral infection . We went for a meal in York in the evening. Alex had a baby sitter and was asleep while we were out, thanks to mobile we were always in touch and only 10 minutes away. The meal was very nice, I had confit of duck in chocolate and chilli sauce as a starter and then lamb with a mix of vegetables in a tasty sauce. We had a Chilian red [or two] I did nt have a pudding just a cup of coffee. Saturday I fed Alex - He has started having organic baby food as well as milk. I got most of it in his mouth some in his hair and a little on my tee shirt! We walked into the town and had a coffee at the Jorvik Cafe -  We stayed in saturday evening and had a nice meal and some red italian wine. On Sunday Nic was again working so I took Marie and Alex to an exhibition at the York racecourse. A theatre/dance group demonstrated different dances - gypsy, european and belly dancing! There was plenty of stalls and demonstrations of healing. . . massage of body, head ect. even a lady who removed the wax from ears with the aid of a lit candle ! ! ! Also lots of expensive lotions and potions.Coincidentely we now have a 'Chinese Herbs Centre' here in Swadlincote. I would nt have thought it will be popular, folk around here seem a little conservative - but who knows!  I add one of the pictures of Alex.
